How to Steal Password Saved In Chrome, Firefox & Safari

You may be surprised to see that how simple it can be to see your saved password on Google chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and any latest popular browser.

Google chrome is probably the worst in protecting your passwords since it stores them in plain text and it can be accessed by any user accessing google chrome. Other browsers are storing them with login protection e.g. Firefox supports master password to protect all saved passwords.

There are many security threats related to password strength, password reuse, plain text password storage, password hashing and password encryption. In this article we are not focusing on any of those threats, However we are trying to demonstrate that anyone can see your saved password in any browser very easily by following below simple steps. A pro hacker will not even consider this a hack since its so simple and does not even require special knowledge or understanding of hacking or use of any sophisticated hacking tools.

Let me remind you that the purpose of this tutorial is demonstrate how unsafe your passwords are with browser save password feature. Therefore try to avoid using the password save features if you system can be accessed by untrusted people.

It may happen sometimes when you leave your work computer unlocked for few minutes. Therefore must be a strong reason for leaving your workstation locked when stepping out (even if for few minutes).

Please do not use this technique unethically.

 Step 1:  Open your favorite browser (Lets say Chrome). The below steps are going to work same on Latest versions of Safari, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

Step 2:  Go the site that has a username and password saved. (Lets Say http://www.evernote.com )

Step 3: Let the browser fill your username & password information.

Step 4:  Now right click on the password field and select "Inspect Element". This should bring the source of html page.

Step 5:  Double click on the text type="password"

Step 6:  Done - you will be able to see the password in clear text on the browser.

This trick will work on almost all browsers that support developer tools for debugging. If you do not see "Inspect Element" option in right click menu you may try addons like FireBug that can provide it.

The technique we used is very common in web development world for debugging web pages. Though its use for retrieving someone's password is not very common.

A better way to protect your passwords will be to not save if in browsers unless you are sure it will not be accessed by any other person.


In general, saving password in browsers is not a good practice since the encryption level in browsers are not very strong. You may want to choose a dedicated password saving application with strong encryption. Mac Keychain is a very good example of secured password storage since it has good encryption and passwords are not revealed without a master/ admin password.

How to set your Pendrive as your password protector for PC

Predator, a free Windows program, turns your USB drive into a key that locks your computer when it's removed. To unlock your computer, you'll have to plug the USB drive back in. (Talk about having secret-agent-style security.)

Anyone who attempts to access your computer without the USB flash drive will be hit with an epic "Access Denied" message. To get started, follow this guide:

Step 1: Download and install Predator.

Step 2: Once Predator launches, plug in your USB flash drive. None of the contents of the drive will be deleted or altered in any way, so feel free to use your primary thumbdrive.

When you insert the drive, a dialog box will appear asking you to create a password. Click OK to continue.

Step 3: In the Preferences window, take note of a few key settings. First, enter a secure, unique password in the "New password" field. If you lose your USB drive, you'll use it to unlock your computer.

If you'd like, you can check the Always Required box and you'll be asked to enter the password each time you use your thumbdrive to unlock your PC.

Finally, in the section under Flash Drives, ensure that the correct USB flash drive is selected. When you're done, click "Create key" and then OK.

Step 4: Predator will exit. When it does, click the Predator icon in the taskbar to restart the program. A few seconds later, the icon will turn green, alerting you that Predator is running.

Every 30 seconds, Predator will check to see that your USB drive is plugged in. If it isn't, your computer will dim and lock down.

Here’s a step by step guide on how you can make screencasts of your desktop windows with YouTube.

How to Create a Screencast with YouTube

Step 1: Sign-in to YouTube with your Google Account, click the Upload button in the upper left corner and choose Events under Live Streaming. If you never done this before, YouTube make require you to verify your phone number to enable streaming.

Step 2: You are on the Create Event page. Give your screencast video a title, set the privacy of the video to either Unlisted or Private and click the “Go Live Now” button.

Step 3: This will open the Hangouts on Air page. You can click the camera icon to turn off webcam recording. Similarly you can toggle the microphone icon if you do not wish to record audio.

Step 4: Now click the Screenshare button in the left toolbox and select a desktop window that you wish to record for your screencast. Remember that if you using multiple virtual desktops, it will only show program windows that are active on the current desktop.

Step 5: Click the Start Screenshare button to share your screen and then clickStart Broadcast to start recording the screen. This is a private session so nobody can watch your broadcast while it is being recorded. When you are done with the recording, click the Stop Broadcast button and switch to the YouTube website.

That’s it. Go your YouTube video dashboard (youtube.com/my_videos) and you’ll see the new screencast video that you’ve just finished recording. You can download the video to your Google Drive or share it withe world.

The videos are recorded in 720p HD and this it would be a good idea to resize your desktop window to the 16:9 ratio before hitting the broadcast button.

Before coming to the point let me tell you its history.
You might have seen in old chinese movies that the monks used to safeguard secrets by hiding those secrets on their body parts so that no one else can see them but them.

This concept was developed further and it was implemented in computers as well.

This is called Steganography.

Now coming to its implementation in Computers.

By the use of Steganography you can Hide one type of file behind other keeping the format of file same.
I personally find it very useful because it helps me hide my important information easily.

So do you want to try Steganography on your machine ?

Lets get started.

NOTE:- The files and folder names I am going to use are just for reference. You may use different if you want to. But for beginning I would suggest to follow along. Later on you can try it with different file names.

Setup:-

1) Create a new folder named test in any drive (say C:\ Drive)

2) In  the test folderCreate a text file in it named – hi.txt

3) Copy any default windows picture from my pictures say – desert.jpg in the test folder

Now the game begins.

Type anything you want to in the  Text file and make its font big so that its easily readable

1) Open command prompt

2) Open the test folder.
      You may use the following commands to do that

    2.1)   C:\
    2.2)   cd test

3) Now use the following command

      COPY /B desert.jpg+hi.txt new.jpg

       ie… the syntax is
      Copy /B name of file in which you want to embedded the content+ name of file which you want to embedded name of new file

And that’s it. You are done.

Open the test folder and you will see a new image named new.jpg.
When you preview it you will see the normal image but now right click it and open the image with notepad. At the end of the file you can see the text that you wrote in the document.

Well this was just the beginning.

Now the more interesting use of it.

If you want to bind rar files to images. You can do that as well.
(You may put anything you want in the rar file)..

Here is a step-by-step procedure to test your antivirus.

1. Open a notepad (New Text Document.TXT) and copy the following code exactly onto it, and save the notepad.

2. Rename the file from New Text Document.TXT to myfile.com

3. Now run the antivirus scan on this myfile.com file.

If the antivirus is functioning properly on your computer, then it should generate a warning and immediately delete the file upon scanning. Otherwise you may have to re-install your antivirus.

NOTE: Most antivirus will pop-out a warning message in the Step-1 itself

You can also place the myfile.com file in a ZIP or RAR file and run a scan on it so as to ensure whether your antivirus can detect the test string in the compressed archive. Any antivirus when scanning this file will respond exactly as it will do for a genuine virus/malicious code. This test will cause no damage to your computer even though the antivirus will flag it as a malicious script. Hence it is the safest method to test the proper functioning of any antivirus.

Things You Need :
1. A Premium Web hosting account which includes PHP and curl / Free hosting accounts usually wont provide curl that's why i suggest you to use Premium hosting account or you can also setup a webserver at your home computer and host a proxy site at your Local Pc ,you can easily setup your own webserver by using xampp i have written a tutorial on that you can read the article  from Here

2. VPN (optional ) - If you find it difficult to port forward   (i use hamachi VPN )

Procedure :


1. First Download Proxy script Pack From Here 


2. Now extract all the files from the Proxy script pack and upload them to your premium web hosting account for easy uploading, use an ftp client like (file zilla ), If your using xampp like me, Then just put all the files in  htdocs folder as shown.

3. Now enter your website name in your web browser and you should see your web proxy site

4. For those using xampp first go to xampp folder, then navigate to php folder , Now open php.ini and search for curl, Now Uncomment the following line  by removing the semicolon ";extension=php_curl.dll " as shown.

5. Now restart xampp and enter localhost or 127.0.0.1 in your browser  , You should now see your proxy site running , If your not getting it then redo all the steps !!

Now those setting up a proxy server at your home PC are Usually  behind a router or modem, In order to  access your proxy server from anywhere (like from your collages , offices ) you have to port forward your web server, Port forwarding can be a difficult job for beginners  as an alternative you can use a VPN .when using a vpn theirs no need of port forwarding. I use Hamachi a free to use vpn to accomplish my goal.

First Download  and install Hamcahi, You will be provided with an ip address starting with 5.xxx..xxx.xxx
To use your proxy, Simply enter your hamachi ip address in your web browser and you,ll see your proxy site as shown.

Speed Up Your Computer Using Notepad.

Notepad is a simple text editor available in windows.Its been in windows since windows 1.0.
We generally use notepad for basic text operations like copying some text from the or saving links .Its fast and simple to use.Do you that notepad can be used to run programs or command prompt commands.?The default extension for notepad is .txt .where (txt stand for text).In this tutorial we will show "you how to speed up your computer using notepad?"

lets go with some basics first:

Vbs stands for visual basic script edition.Its a scripting language which is developed by Microsoft  initially targeted for web developers.This script is basically available in every windows operating system till now.We are going to use this script to speed up your computer.Now lets see how to edit or make these scripts to make our computer run much faster.

Speedup your computer using notepad:

There are many ways to speed up your computer.Upgrade your computer with latest hardware which is available in the market or by using some softwares.Since most of us like me cant afford to upgrade to a newer hardware we need to find some other alternatives.There are some alternatives available besides using software,which is by using notepad.We will be discussing two methods using notepad which can improve performance of your pc.

1. One is by cleaning ram
2. Other by manipulating string using notepad.

By Cleaning ram:

1.Create a text document:
Create a text document on desktop or any other drives which are easy to access.To create .txt file right click on desktop or any empty place incase if you are in folder or drive and click on new and select create text document.

2.Type the following code:

By typing this code you will cleaning ram.choose the code depending up o your ram.

freemem=(space51200000)      if you have 512 mb ram
freemem=(space102400000)    if you have 1024 mb ram 
freemem=(space204800000)    if you have 2048 mb ram
freemem=(space409600000 )   if you have 4096 mb ram
freemem=(space xxxx00000)   replace xxxx with the size of the ram in megabites.

3.Save the file with .vbs application:

Now click save as.Save the file name with .vbs extension.you can save it with any name unless you use .vbs extension and choose save as type as "All files."

after saving the document.close it and try to open it by double clicking.and now you will notice the difference.Even though it doesnot provide and interface for cleaning ram ,ram  will be automatically cleaned.

By using mystring command:

open the notepad

type this code:

Mystring=(80000000) 

save it as .vbs extension:

Now save it as .vbs extension.In my case i save it as "speed.vbs" you can use any name you want just put a .vbs extension while saving it .

Double click the saved file and you will notice the difference

the saved files will some what look like this.

Points to be considered:

1.You are speeding up your computer this does not mean that you will be increasing processor or graphics

2.Even after using this you will not see any changes while playing games because we are cleaning only ram so that operations can be performed much efficiently

3.If your game is laggy before you will notice its still laggy after using this.

Final words on using notepad to speedup:

So by using notepad you will be able to speed your computer with just simple command and this doesn't mean that you will notice any visual changes or increase in frames per seconds.
